Garden Patch Soup
Well, here is another soup dish, or should I say a stew. Any way you call it, it will always turn out good. Now, you are saying "bacon in a diet soup"? Well, yes, for you are really not eating a lot of it, but it gives flavor to the stew. If you are on a diet, are you never going to eat anything that is a bit on the fatty side? I think not. Remember, a little will not hurt you. Enjoy the stew.
Let me know how yours turned out.
Ingredients
1-2 tbsp. - Olive oil
3 strips - Bacon, any type
1 med. - Chopped, sliced, chopped
2 cloves - Garlic, chopped
1 med - Carrot, sliced
1/2 cup - Green peas
1 cup - Cabbage, sliced
1 each - Bay leaf
1 tbsp. - All-purpose flour
1 cube - Chicken stock, non-sodium
3/4 cup - Sour cream
Salt and pepper, as needed
Water as needed
Note: I did not add any salt because there is salt in the bacon.
