A rock/metal cover of 'Game Over' from the video game The World Ends With You.
I mentioned this in previous TWEWY covers, but I think this a criminally underrated game which definitely deserves more attention, and the sequel is turning out to be one of my favourite games of this year!
Game Over was another one of the many songs that stuck out in my mind, as it has this very specific, 'cool' vibe that set it apart from the other tracks in this game. I wanted cover this song for a while now, but wasn't really sure how to put my own spin on it, until now! The song itself isn't very complex, so adapting parts wasn't actually too difficult, and definitely had a lot of fun incorporating funky elements into the verses!
The vocals were so pretty challenging for very different reasons this time. I am by no means a rapper but I thought I'd give it ago! I don't really know much about rap, but given the rock/metal style, I took a lot of inspiration from Rage Against The Machine (with the solo too!) and a bit from Limp Bizkit, hence I tried to make the vocals slightly more aggressive than the original. Hopefully I did the original justice, and hopefully you all enjoyed the video!
