A metal arrangement of both Brinstar themes from Super Metroid, Upper Brinstar and Lower Brinstar (Red Soil).
This was the first VGM arrangement I ever started working on, and it came totally by accident! I was just messing around with that intro on bass, and suddenly had an idea to turn it into a riff in 6/4 (the 'chorus'), and then quickly followed the riff after that, with that first guitar solo, which I thought sounded cool!
I took a lot of creative liberties with the Upper Brinstar sections, such as adding my own solos and riffs, but everything is based of off the original music, and I simply just added my own spin on it! I also added the section of Lower Brinstar in the middle because I thought a moody atmospheric section would have been a nice change of pace in the song, and I also thought it would be cool to have both Upper and Lower Brinstar music in one song, something I haven't seen before.
This cover was done back in 2017 as part of a video game music cover album, 'A Generation's Legacy', from my band Oroborus back when there were only two of us. This is why the mixing isn't as good and up to date, but hopefully still enjoyable!
