Measuring temperature with a PTC thermistor and an ADC …

Last time we build our electromagnetic compliant (EMC) power supply, based on a switch mode regulator (link below). We still have an ADC input left, so let’s measure the temperature, because everything will be in an unventilated case.
First we look at the general options for temperature measurement, settling on a thermistor. After discussing NTC and PTC thermistors, we build our circuit around a TMP61 PTC and an ADC input. The result is good enough for our purposes.
