The spheroid (=ellipsoid) with 5 units is a prolate spheroid and the one with 7 units is a oblate spheroid, see Wikipedia: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spheroid
The tetrahedron with spikes is made with 48 units and fits within a 4x4x4-cube of units, for a 3x3x3-variety you need 23 units.
