The surface represented here is a combination Schwarz' P surface and Schoen's I-WP surface. It is a very strong structure, the center of the unit is quite strong, otherwise especially the first build shown would not be possible. At the bottom of larger structures the hexagons on the corners get deformed a bit due to the weight, as these are not as strong as the center of the unit. The structure gets a lot of strength from the diagonal connections, those have optimal strength. Halfway the horizontal and vertical connections however, rings of equal polarity meet, so these connections are locally weak. The horizontal connections don't do much for the strength of the structure, the vertical ones help carrying weight.
