Four people, including three family members, were killed and three others injured in a massive 11‑vehicle crash on the East Coast Expressway near Temerloh last night.
The 10pm collision involved a tanker truck, an express bus, four cars, three SUVs, an MPV and a pickup.
Fire and Rescue officials said the driver and two passengers of one SUV died at the scene, while another man in a separate SUV was also killed.
All victims were trapped in their vehicles, with firefighters taking over an hour to extricate them.
Two others, including the tanker driver, were seriously injured.
Thirty bus passengers escaped unhurt. Police say all vehicles were heading from Kuala Lumpur to Kuantan when the crash occurred.
Investigations into the cause are ongoing, while the victims’ bodies have been sent to Sultan Ahmad Shah Hospital for post‑mortem.
