In this video, I talk about #FountainPenBurnout - how this has manifested within the hobby for me, (mainly in ink + ink reviewing) signs and symptoms I noticed, causes (at least what I think may have caused it) and things that have helped me avoid further loss of joy within the hobby. I do think that fountain pen You Tubers are more prone to this than your average fountain pen collector/writer but let me know in the comments what your experience has been. Hobbies are so important for our spirit and joy ... it would be good to prevent burnout and have happier overall experiences. I think we each have a unique perspective and I enjoy hearing others thoughts on this ... so I wanted add my thoughts.

I'm sharing my perspective too hoping that this video will help even one person to avoid the pitfalls of burnout in the hobby!
My area of burnout was mainly ink and ink reviewing, especially ink samples, I got so overwhelmed and so intense with it that within a few years that part of the hobby was overshadowed and eventually I had no desire left to review inks anymore. I've never recovered fully from that but I have been more careful not to let the burnout spread into the rest of the hobby.
I sincerely hope that some part of this video will help even one person avoid or recognize burnout in the hobby or elsewhere ... because the sooner we take action to heal it, the better I believe.
NOTE: I got a little confused in explaining the time line of me leaving the spiritual community and starting in the hobby... it was actually starting my You Tube channel that aligned exactly one month after I left that community in which I experienced burnout in volunteering. I was already about 1 year into being back into writing with fountain pens. :)
