Well, this was interesting. Let's take a look. I checked the Connecticut statutes. Very different from California, and poorly drafted in my book. In California, we have both "assault" and "battery." Connecticut takes a different view, rams it all under the "assault" rubric, and then writes it into something that leaves much to be desired.
As for the ridiculous "voyeurism" charge - which is a felony - that was used to boost the bond amount, and its context has no application here. The statutes speak about perv boys with trench coats taking pictures for sexual gratification, or a malicious intent against women, and things like that. I can safely say that LIA was not sexually aroused at any time when he was threatened with a gun, spit on, and yelled at for 200 feet.
