Have you ever wondered how much computer technology has moved forwards in just a few years.
Think back to the floppy discs used before about 2005. These hold a minute amount of data compared to what can be stored today. In just 20 years things have come a huge way.
The floppy discs were also not as reliable and after they had been used for a while they wore out.
Looking at the comparisons, the 128GB SD card holds approximately 91,022 times, lets say 90 000 times the data of the 3 1/4 inch floppy, and in a smaller size.
To work out the calculation - comparing a 128 Gigabyte (GB) SD card to a 1.44MB floppy disk:
Convert GB to MB:
Since 1 GB = 1024 MB (this is the standard binary conversion used in computing):
128 GB = 128 * 1024 MB = 131,072 MB
Calculate the difference:
Divide the SD card's capacity by the floppy disk's capacity:
131,072 MB / 1.44 MB ≈ 91,022.22
So, a 128 GB SD card can hold approximately 91,022 times more data than a standard 1.44 MB 3.5-inch floppy disk.
