In this video, I look at the Tektronix Oscilloscopes Restoration Guide, a book from Elektor to see what it has to offer.
Recently I came across a book from Elektor called the Tektronix Oscilloscopes Restoration Guide. If like me, you were brought up using Tek scopes, then you will be interested to read this.
The book follows on from Tektronix Epic Scopes which details the history of Tektronix scopes. This is a restoration guide and it i'beautifully produced and it provides an exciting insight into how to repair and restore some of the iconic Tek scopes ranging from the famous 500 series to more the modern designs and especially the 7000 series.
Whilst it's mentioned that much of the original documentation is available online, this book builds on this giving additional essential information and specific guidance gained from real experience on these scopes.
The book runs to around 400 pages and it is lavishly illustrated with photos, notated board layouts, diagrams and a whole lot more.
