When you have the full on-screen keyboard up on your iPad, you can press and hold on the bottom right key and choose Floating from the popup menu. If you do, you get an iPhone-sized keyboard instead, which can be handier if you’re typing one-handed. But also iPhone keyboards have swipe to type, so this can even be a faster way of typing. Tap the ellipses button to go back.
