This run was solid, but still not the best it could be. I used safe strats here as well because they would be used more often RTA.
The second boosted long jump I change the camera and then walk at the top right dot (i try to be slightly more left when possible). When I hit the white border (or a bit before it) I spin, press and hold z, and turn the camera once to the left. This will often give good boosted long jumps. Being slightly delayed on the camera turn gives better angles, but being too late can give an angle that just goes out to the void. This means I usually just press it just slightly after holding z to be safe. Also being a bit further left of the dot is usually fine. Just don't be too far right or you will go trough the floor.
I use a new strat at 0:25 where you touch the flag first and then spin inside the flag. Spinning in the flag makes it so that the spin won't hit the CP (for some reason). This means a spin canceled jump can be utilized to get a nice boost here. In the bonus after the run, I show how the boost could be better by angling my jump slightly more in so that the long jump ends up over more void. This strat actually runs into an issue where you can be too fast and the cycles of the chomps prevents you from going any faster.
At 0:36 I found running toward the corner and then spinning let mario change his angle more freely for this big boost. It still isn't easy, but now I can hit it 50% of the time.
I may add more bonus content to future videos to practice editing as well as to show the dumb things that happen during my practice/strat hunting.
