This beats the previous WR by .02s. This run honestly was not that special. TAS is now down to a 14.93 which means there is still a lot of room for improvement. Most notable is the entry into the wall jump section and the long jump to the star.
The beginning section is interesting. You don't want to hold a to bounce high off the first goomba. I don't know if it's necessary, but I make sure to strain this wall kick (however not with c because the c button also delays spin inputs). You do an a held nunchuk spin around the flower and continue holding a the entire time. One of the main areas I think some time save here is just getting off the swing. I think I was a couple frames late. My bounce onto the swing also seems unoptimal which may have been why I went with a later release.
For the wall jump section, I just guessed what kind of strain angle might be needed here (still unsure). I winged the first 3, I went with down and away from the walls that I am kicking until the final one where I strain up left. The spin in the wall jump section is a no a held wiimote spin, however holding a for a tiny bit during the spin is recommended for enough height
(even TAS does it). To be honest, I don't even know which jumps the TAS strains besides the last wall jump.
When coming out of the wall jump section, I returned the stick to neutral before landing (c button doesnt work) and then reheld toward the star. I was a little slow on starting my long jumps, so this is where another good chunk of time is.
I don't know if humans will see sub 15 some day considering how specific every height has to be, but this can definitely get to a low 15 with a longer grind. I only put in around 2 hours to get this so a more dedicated grind could do it.
