I couldn't save a cycle, so instead I optimized the ending by grabbing the 4 coins you would normal sideflip and spin for in the last room using 2p in various rooms. Once in the beginning, 2 in the middle room, then the last one while drilling into the star room. This could be better optimized still, but this is good enough for now.
