On opening weekend in Fairfield, the new Flat Out Burger sold out its signature smash cheeseburgers both Saturday and Sunday, co-owner Paul Gasparrini said.

“We’ve built something special in New York City and I’ve been saying for a while that Connecticut could use a Flat Out of its own. I’d say it’s definitely about time,”  Flat Out Burger co-owner Anthony Santorelli said.

The grand opening is planned for Sept. 12.
