Gov. Ned Lamont and U.S. Sen. Richard Blumenthal visited two Connecticut municipalities on Tuesday that were hit especially hard by storms on the Fourth of July.

Both Harwinton and Torrington declared states of emergency after thunderstorms Saturday night brought down trees and power lines, causing multiple road closures and knocking out power for many residents.

Across the state, thousands were still without power as of Tuesday.
