If you are watching real-time, today is Christmas Eve 2025! And if you have been in Baltimore for a while, you might remember that the TV station, WMAR, used to have local sports heroes read the poem, “A Visit from St. Nicholas,” around this time. You may know it from its first line “’Twas the Night Before Christmas,” and we are going to read it now in front of historic places lit up for the holidays. Thanks for watching and see you soon with another video.

This is our series called "Five Minute Histories." Every week, we’ll record a short video about a different historic place in Baltimore and post it on our Facebook page and YouTube channel.
