The Idaho BDR is one of the longest and most scenic Backcountry Discovery Routes. This summer, my friends Jeff, Lorn, and I attempted to complete the entire IDBDR route start to finish, motocamping and riding ADV bikes the entire way.

The trip started out very well. We loaded up our ADV motorcycles (Aprilia Tuareg 660, Ducati Desert X, and a Harley Davidson Pan America) and set off from Jarbidge, Nevada (the official start of the route). We enjoyed motocamping along the route and I have to say riding a motorcycle on the Idaho BDR is one of the most scenic journeys you can make on an adventure bike.
Riding and motorcycle camping on the IDBDR was a great experience and everything was going well until the Macgruder Corridor on day 4. We started to experience some motorcycle issues and the completion of the IDBDR on motorcycles was cast into doubt.
