It’s a cold, blustery March 18th day here at Lake Ketchabigwon. The water is cold and muddy. I don’t have a lot of hope, but I want to start fishing. I’m dying to catch my first fish of the year. Maybe we can catch a bass, or any fish! I’m desperate! See below for the music credits and fishing gear.

My personal best crappie was caught in 2010. It was14¾” and weighed 2 LB 1 oz. The crappie I caught here fell short of that mark.

The baitcasting rod is an old 6 foot medium action Shimano Compre, also from about 2004. It is no longer made.

The spinning rod is a tiny Daiwa SMC401ULFS Spinmatic-C SpinRod (4- Feet, Ultra Light, 1 Piece, 1-4 pound line test recommended). It can be found on Amazon, Fish USA, and other places.
The baitcasting line is Sufix 832 braid in low-vis green, 10 pound test, 4 pound monofilament equivalent.
The spinning reel line is SpiderWire, Ultracast, Invisi-Braid in 10 pound test, 2 pound monofilament equivalent. So far, I like it a lot.
