...One of the things that make the learning the fire plough so difficult, apart from specific material selection & proper technique, is that conditions also have a big effect.

...The rains have come early again here in NE Thailand & after a week of daily downpours the humidity is sky high & even with a dry set the forming dust pile sucks moisture from the air & makes it so much more difficult to get a sustainable ember.

...This was actually the third attempt with me exerting a lot more downwards pressure & speed than I would normally have to to get ignition. This is a set made from all kare tree wood that normally produces an ember with relative ease & even after I stop ploughing you can see it takes quire a while for the ember to form.
