When I first moved to Oregon, I found myself infected with a serious case of gold fever. After learning there was a gold bearing creek just a few miles from my home, I found myself spending many hours looking for gold, and while I did find a small amount, based on the amount of time I spend digging in this area. I probably didn't make over 25 cents an hour if even that. Nevertheless I had a great deal of fun and made a couple new friends in the process.
