In this video I demonstrate how I'm able to operate a small DC motor using the energy I'm harvesting from one of our local AM broadcast transmitters about a mile and a half from here. The amount of energy I was able to pick up is only about 18 milliwatts, and when I disconnect the motor from the capacitor the voltage climbs to about 59 volts.
I'm not sure an energy harvesting setup like this has much practical value, but to see my motor actually working did come as a surprise.
The antenna used in this demonstration is a 200 foot end fed long wire antenna going over the top of a pine tree. The antenna tuner used in this video is an MFJ DELUXE VERSA TUNER 2 Model #
