In this video I demonstrate how many of the newer Samsung LED TVs will allow the back lights to come on if you unplug the cable going to the main board.
Since backlight and mainboard failures are fairly common, this test can be helpful in trying to figure out if your backlights are the cause of your problem, or the main board, Since a defective T-con board can also be the reason the TV goes into shut down it's also advisable to try unplugging the T-con board on the input side to see if that allows the backlight to come on.
If it does you can also unplug the output side of the T-CON board and see if the display is causing your TV to shut down.
This youtuber went into far more troubleshooting depth than I did in my video. It's worth watching. This youtuber covered other possibilities in greater depth than I did here. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=77tymvTJDxo
