Putting your behaviour under the control of your values can be hard when you don't have a history of doing the things that matter to you. Maybe it's even impossible for you to imagine what you'd be doing. In this brief ACT exercise, I invite you to connect with a real, fictional, or imagined role model that could handle the difficult situations you find yourself in. Although this can be a powerful imaginal example of planning your behaviour, the process alone of connecting with what's important to you, the qualities you want to be about is incredibly powerful.
