Day 9
We made it to the Snow Sanctuary. Steem was in a cave at the northern part of the area. I did have to do a small puzzle to get in there though but it wasn't too hard. I just had to keep track of where the statues were facing. Steem was happy to see us. I had to play a duet with him to restore more of the tracks. Luckily, we were able to restore the main tracks that led from Anouki Village to the Snow Sanctuary.
Our next destination is the Snow Temple which is at the very northern part of the Snow Realm. Steem told us that a nasty blizzard has covered the tracks leading there so we should be careful.
After we left the Snow Sanctuary, I drove the train a little toward the Snow Temple. The blizzard was so bad that I couldn't see more of the tracks! Zelda suggested we turn back and see if we can find help at Anouki Village. She figured since the Anouki were native to this area, they might know a way to navigate through a harsh blizzard.
I drove the train back to Anouki Village. Honcho was surprised to see me return. I told him that I did find Steem and got the tracks restored, but I need to know how to navigate through the nearby blizzard. Honcho said he wasn't sure how since he hadn't left his home in a long time, but he did tell me that there was a train fanatic by the name of Ferrus who might be able to help me. He told me that Ferrus lives near a spring on the east part of the Snow Realm.
I thanked Honcho and set out for that spring. It was a very lovely spring. Zelda wouldn't stop looking at it. I knocked on the door to Ferrus's house, but no answer. I opened the door to see if he was home, but he wasn't. He did leave a note saying that he was going to be looking at trains nearby since some of the tracks reappeared.
Well, the only thing we could do was check that area out. Zelda had to point him out to me since I could barely hear his camera over the loud train. I saw him and slowed down. Ferrus nearly fainted when I stopped. He knew this was the Spirit Train. After he managed to calm down, I told him that I had to get through the blizzard to the Snow Temple.
Ferrus said that it's impossible to get through the blizzard and I'd have to wait it out, but I think he saw how desperate I was. He pulled out an old rail map and said that the tracks leading from the Snow Temple to the Tower of Spirits are protected. I might be able to use those tracks to reach the Snow Temple. I copied the information down on my own map and thanked Ferrus for his help. He told me to keep an eye out for him since he'll be taking pictures wherever he can. What a nice guy.
Zelda and I don't feel quite ready to set off toward the blizzard yet, so we plan to spend another night in Anouki Village to prepare.
