By mid morning, one of the two Pin-striped Tit-babbler chicks had flown from its dense nesting patch right out into the open. Perching on a thin open branch, it continued to call intermittently while awaiting feeding.
Alas, its overly ambitious parent returned with a relatively big grasshopper which presented a huge challenge for the chick. After struggling to swallow it, the chick dropped this yummy treat instead. It went hungry for a while before the parent returned with something more sensible.
Pin-striped Tit-babblers are common residents in Singapore.
