Farewell HMAS Anzac ⚓ John, Ian, Bin, Peter and Simon share their memories and say goodbye. All five were part of her build and transition into service in the 1990s, and still work together with the Anzac class ships today.
As the first ship of the Anzac class, HMAS Anzac was built at the BAE Systems shipyard in Williamstown, back when it was owned by Transfield Shipbuilding in the 1990s.
On behalf of all Australians, #HMASAnzac was formally farewelled on 18 May 2024 after almost 30 years of serving #AusNavy.
Many of our people have been part of HMAS Anzac’s life over those three decades.
United We Stand.
