Fantastic Four vs X-Men was a cross-over film proposed by Fox Studio by in 2010. This would have been start of a cinematic universe.
Loosely based off the comicbook arc Civil War, the film would begin with the Human Torch accidentally causing a massive explosion in New York causing the deaths of hundreds of people. In response to this disaster, the government would introduce the Superhuman Registration Act, forcing all heroes to resister their identities with the government and act under the governments control.
The heroes would quickly split over how to respond to the Act, with some choosing to support it, and others becoming part of a resistance movement against the Act. The film would climax with a large battle as both groups of heroes clash.
