in which alexandra goes to fan expo dressed as jyn erso from rogue one: a star wars story and only bumbles over herself a little
hello potential friends! so this video is late as heck because i have now officially started grad school and it is...a crazy time rn. my gosh. i'm sorry this video is twenty minutes long, but that is just what it's like in my head. vlogs are the worst because i don't plan what i film, and then i'm screwed
fan expo was fun! next year i'm going to plan more ahead of time in more than just costume-wise (though next year i know i want to do a group cosplay because people go nuts over anyone in a couple cosplay or a group one). but i went with good friends and saw cool things this year, so it was definitely worth the lack of sleep
for those who didn't watch to the very end, but do read these descriptions (unlikely), the weekend of fan expo i was actually booked in to do three overnight shifts at work back to back. i couldn't get anyone to switch with me, which means i had to bring my costume to work (i didn't wear the jacket or vest and covered up the shirt with a sweater, but i put on the whole costume to show my coworker) and when i left work after a full night up, i walked directly to the convention centre to wait for my friends. i was at the convention until around 7pm, and then had a nap at grace and rhee's house for maybe...two and a half hours? and then headed back to work for my next overnight. yes, i was dead inside absolutely, but somehow i stayed awake and hype all through actual fan expo
i will try and add all the artists i bought stuff from in the artist alley as soon as i have the energy lol
i still die inside a little thinking about how awkward i was with those rogue one cosplayers, but overall the good feelings of seeing them triumph over my regret at how i handled it, so it's still positive!
i have credit for only one cosplayer that is pictured in the little montage--the very first maka albarn. she's on tumblr as kimeyoscosplay
