(psst this was not a "musical" the music within was meant to be really short and sketchy because the main character can't actually play the ukulele or anything lol)
making this play was an absolute journey. i put off making this vlog, even though i'd filmed stuff behind the scenes, because i think going back and looking at everything we did this summer felt like too much in a way. once the play was over, i kind of just moved on, no mourning period, no weirdness, just--it was over. (it's not fully over! we're gonna work on a new draft and maybe bring it to other festivals, but still. you know what i mean)
so finally doing the vlog is a strange sort of closure.
the biggest thing this play was to me is a learning experience. i learned that i never fucking want to produce anything ever again. i'm good to write it. i'm good to direct it. i'm even good to design all the art and promo material. but to produce it, which involves scheduling things and firing off ten billion emails and being in charge of actively promoting it??? no offense, but i'd rather die. i can't do the production side of it. just can't.
i didn't want to put the entire hour long play in here, so i just stuck in a few moments that out of context are probably very strange! i swear it did make sense in the play.
anyhoo i've got a cottage vlog i want to put up of cute moments had at the very first cottage i ever went to (tara's family have a cottage! it was fancy!) and then i'm gonna start bombarding y'all with low quality covers and probably panicked stories about failing grad school. guys, i have to write a play in three months and in two weeks i have to have ten minutes of it ready to be rehearsed by professional actors for my masters. being ~creative~ is not easy y'all, especially because it will not lead to financial stability
