I think I might of held off from sharing this for this long because back in the times I was initially that regular with uploading stuff to this channel, Channel 4 were WAY more litigious on copyright in terms of anything revolving around their older animated short commissions (or whatever you should call it, there's no official term, friend of mine tried to remedy that with their Letterboxd list of them all if you're interested: tinyurl.com/c4animations ) but now that they've been a lot more relaxed, or at least they certainly have been with "Famous Fred" given its not a big priority for them, I decided to finally post this. Not even those Fan Wikis chronicling certain VHS releases for certain kids stuff have said this is at the end of the VHS releases for "Famous Fred" so, now you folks know!

Now, you may be wondering like I was before looking through this..."Why is this necessary beyond them needing to pad out the amount of tape left?" Well well well, here's the thing: there's never been an official music release on any format of the songs produced for "Famous Fred", despite about 6 being made for it, for one single half-hour one-off animated special. And it turns out that this faux, awkward MTV-takeoff-y segment features huge amounts of most of these songs without added sound effects. Therefore, these are likely the cleanest versions you're going to get of these songs at present.

I loved this special as a kid and I have this Thing where I have it on after I wake up Christmas Day each year, even if it doesn't sugarcoat some of its subject matter, so realising they had these otherwise unreleased versions of these songs just sitting here made this WAY too hard for me to justify not sharing. As for the emoji used in the title (a rarity on this channel, so enjoy it), well...there's no frame of reference for what to actually call this segment, as they never vocalise it and all we have to go on is a cat's face as the logo with "TV" to the side of it. Therefore, I'm going to guess and assume its actual name would be called "Meow TV"...but YT allow emojis on titles so screw it, it gets to remain that in the title somewhat. ;)

Also included is the last section of the (pasted-over for video release, so without that nice animation in the background of the crowd of cat-folk with lighters) End Credits as they added crowd noise to the end of that same song when featured in the segment and for the fellow freaks subscribing and curious, the closing logos after the segment, which is the Channel 5 (not that one, 80's video distributor one) logo and some obligatory Warning text that I *think* is the same one Polygram and Universal used at the time.
