Another Pioneer LDCE release that shares a lot of similarities to the "Jurassic Park" CLV LD I shared the opening of not long ago but because of the perticular way "The Pagemaster" was handled internationally on home video, I figured this would be of interest to people who may of wanted to see what that looks like in Laserdisc quality.
This one came to me factory sealed initially...well, almost. The seal was torn to the edge of the package so I figured the moral dilemma of releasing it of decades of containment was already made for me...and then I saw the disc had some odd dot-like stains so I cleaned the physical surface of the disc and dry-wiped with a never-used duster as best as I could. I explain this in case it explains the odd little jitter during the copyright warning text, but I'm sure that's a coincedence as the rest of the disc seemed just fine and played wonderfully. I *did* notice an odd frame at one point but I'm still unsure wether that was a very slight disc error or an animation error that got left in with the film's home video master (which as nice as it is to get in prestine LD quality, I completely forgot had very weird contrast at points anyway).
Man, when is someone in the UK going to claim the rights to this film so that a fancy new release can be made? This Laserdisc is *still* the best-quality way to check the film out through an official medium and its copyright has been dormant since the late-90's. Ah well, maybe I'm a freak for still caring about this all these decades ago...not that I wouldn't be a dork or weird regardless. x) Anyway, more stuff eventually, enjoy!

![The Company of Wolves (1984) UK Theatrical Trailer [HD]
[THIS TRAILER IS FOR AN 18-RATED FILM (R in the US) AND CONTAINS DISTURBING IMAGERY. You watch this at your own risk.
I initially made this an 18+ only upload but because it made it pretty much impossible for enough people interested to watch just this upload alone, even somehow not reaching those who are over-18 *and* are interested, Ive removed the 18+ caveat. The change was made on February 23rd 2021.]
Sourced directly from the 2005 DVD release of the film (which I have recently purchased brand new) and upscaled to HD via Topaz Video Enhance AI.
I recently checked this film out and found myself really enamoured by it, but was also frustrated by the lack of a good-quality trailer upload of the thing so tried my hand at offering that. Was *very* close to just being used as a source for a recreation of the trailer using this, Blu-ray footage of the film (which I also perchased) and recreated titles and logos, to be submitted to my dorkier 2nd channel things2tings, but I was so impressed with how this on its own looks that I decided its enough. Now, YouTube now has the original trailer in as-intended widescreen and in HD! Youre welcome. :D
Also, the first upload on here that I decided to make 18+ only. I believe the film itself these days could do okay by being re-rated 15 as It: Chapter Two comes close in terms of the grizzlier edges and got a 15 but even with that said, the images of Stephen Rea pulling skin off his face can still be very justifiably upsetting and squirm-inducing, so I figured as this is a channel that happens to have a lot of nostalgic initially-targetted-at-kids uploads, thisd be the right choice. Anyway, see you all next year or...whenever I feel like I have something to upload to here. x) The Company of Wolves (1984) UK Theatrical Trailer [HD]](https://i.ytimg.com/vi/Ki63vF4R15E/mqdefault.jpg)
![BBC1 Film Ends, Junction and Partial BBC News (1st/2nd January 1999)
I dont do a lot of uploads of BBC1 continuity taken from VHS as there isnt as much variety given as *the* public service broadcaster of the UK and funded directly through mandatory public TV Licenses, there are no commercials other than promos for the BBCs own stuff and the odd PIF (PSA) sometimes...but this time, I felt like making a rare exception because the fact Im digitising in a way that preserves the framerates and Very Overkill Resolutions, I felt itd have a touch more worth. On the same tape I have that has Do-It-Yourself, Mr. Bean on, theres the entirety of The Mask (the Jim Carrey movie, obviously) immediately after and...with a tiny bit of waiting first...the tape reveals that The Mask taped over another film that played over the season, the New Years Day 1999 TV premiere of Apollo 13. The truncated, zippy credit edits the BBC do for both films are here, as well as the junction after Apollo 13...and almost the entirety of the BBC News reports relating to the launch of the Euro currency, also on New Years Day 1999.
Confusingly, even though the Mr. Bean ep aired on New Years Day that year, that airing of The Mask was on the *2nd* of January so that goes first. And all the other New Years Day stuff is after. x) I missed dabbling in digitising VHS tapes, recorded tapes with layers of recordings are fun to discover whats on.
(EDIT: 27.07.2025 - I had to trim out the Braveheart promo due to a copyright claim from both 20th Century Studios and Paramount that formally forced this video to be blocked worldwide. Apologies to everyone for that! Im gonna miss the overacted ...because its full of Scots! in that promo too.)
