Once a cult rock icon in 1980s Belgrade, Arsenije lived a life of noise, rebellion, and creative intensity. Raised in New York but drawn to the cultural pulse of Yugoslavia’s underground scene, he seemed destined for an unconventional path, but not this one.
For the past 30 years, Arsenije has lived in quiet devotion as a monk at the Monastery of Ribnica, helping to rebuild it into a spiritual and cultural sanctuary. His days are now shaped by prayer, manual labor, and reflection - but his creative spirit has never faded.
Through painting, writing, and sculpture, Monk Arsenije continues to express a deeply personal journey, one that bridges two radically different worlds. As he reflects on his past, this film explores transformation, identity, and the search for meaning beyond fame.
