Housing crisis isn’t new, but how young Australians are fighting back definitely is.
In this first episode of "Housemates", we explore two of the most unique and controversial living experiments reshaping the meaning of home.
First, there’s Crunchy Town — not one home, but a cluster of connected houses where residents share everything: their backyards, their meals, and even their beds. Then, we visit The Private House, where house-sharing isn’t about community, it’s about survival and affordability.

"Housemates" uncovers the unique, unusual, and sometimes crazy ways Australians have made share housing work. In many streets across Australia, there will be some form of share house going on, and nearly everyone has had to share a house, flat or even bedroom at some point. Sharing a fridge or a bathroom with strangers is never easy. Each of the shared houses has a unique way of living, but could you live in any of them?
