Vault 81 is one of the Vaults constructed by Vault-Tec Corporation in the Commonwealth. It is located south of Oberland Station and slightly north-west of Chestnut Hillock Reservoir. It requires either completion of the quest "Vault 81" or a high enough charisma level to persuade security to let the Sole Survivor enter.
It is run by Overseer Gwen McNamara, remains fully active and houses a peaceful community of vault dwellers who have resided there all of their lives.
