The Sole Survivor decides to hire a mercenary in Goodneighbor by the name of Robert Joseph MacCready, however he comes with a little more baggage than expected.
Eventually, MacCready will confide in the Sole Survivor about his unresolved issues with his former Gunner associates Winlock and Barnes. He will ask his employer to travel to the Massachusetts turnpike interchange to help him kill them.
Once the Sole Survivor gains MacCready’s trust and affinity further, he will explain the real reason why he’s in the Commonwealth; to find a cure for his dying son, Duncan.
