At first you won't see anything to fight here, but if you go in the basement you'll encounter a lot of ghouls. Some of them will poison you so be careful and keep an eye on your health. I'd highly recommend the combat shotgun for ghouls.
Once you get out of the basement you'll get attacked by the person who runs the cannery. It is apparently possible to talk to Theodore instead of him attacking you right away (I saw it on my wife's playthrough), but I'm not sure how you can manage that. Regardless, he attacked me once I came out of the basement. He has a few Mr. Handy's with him and attacks with a sniper rifle. I just got up close to him and took him out with a combat shotgun. Be sure to grab the barter bobblehead before you leave.
