A cover of "Everybody Falls" from the game Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout.
While I've never played Fall Guys myself (though it does look fun!), the amazing bassist and frequent collaborator on this channel, Noble, is definitely a fan of this game! This cover was actually his idea, thinking a lot of the parts parts would be super full to play on bass, and from there we decided to make this a 'bass only' arrangement!
The parts themselves were actually pretty easy, as it was pretty simple fretting movement, and a lot of fast picking. However the trickiest part by far was the slap sections, as the original slap bass parts were very clearly written and played on a keyboard or in MIDI, meaning it didn't actually translate too well on a real bass. That said, I think we both did a good job making it work!
Mixing was an interesting challenge, as there were so many bass tracks, a lot of low end had to be cut so it wasn't too muddy. Another thing I had to do was mix some parts as if they were guitars in order create space for each part, which luckily seemed to do the trick.
Finally, we thought having an entire arrangement of bass wasn't enough, so we decided to add a solo section, trading off bass solos. So I'd like to give an extra special thanks to Katy Scary from Klaymore, and Triple B Music for doing some absolutely killer bass solos!
