A rock/metal cover of the 'Suspicion' theme from the video game Persona 5 (and Persona 5 Royal).
The Persona 5 cover no one ever asked for, but I did it anyway!
This is personally one of my favourite themes from the entire game (yes, that even includes some of the amazing Palace music and battle themes), I feel like it really captures the whole vibe of the story since there is a lot of suspicion and suspense in the game.
The original is a very simple repetitive bass line, with some interesting jazzy chords and very cool string sounds which I wanted to play up.
I took a lot of creative liberties in this cover, and really tried to make this my own, which I hope you can forgive!
There's a lot to unpack here so I won't go into too much detail, but everything I've done is either a variation of the main riff or related so the faint chord progression you can here in the original.
I had a lot of fun layering up various different strings, synth pads, organ sounds, as well some cool sound effects which I haven't used before! Also pretty happy with how the solos turned out, especially that bass solo, I think it works really well!
Despite how it deviates from the original, I hope you can appreciate what I tried to do here, and enjoy the cover!
