This is Falcon's Fury at Busch Gardens in Tampa, Florida, USA. It is the worlds first drop tower that drops riders at a 90 degree angle so they're facing the ground when they drop. Riders board one of eight gondolas that have four seats each for a total of thirty-two riders per ride cycle. Riders will remain in the sitting position until the ride gets close to the top. The gondolas are then pulled in forcing riders to look at the ground which is 335 feet down. The ride will then hold riders in that position for between one to five seconds before releasing the gondola and dropping it at a top speed of 60 mph. At a certain point, the gondola reaches the rare earth magnetic braking fins where the gondolas will then swing back to the sitting position while bringing the ride to a safe stop. This really is an incredible experience and well worth the wait. This one is also North America's tallest freestanding drop tower as well. Yes, there are other drop rides that are taller but they're attached to other rides.
