This is Goliath at Six Flags over Georgia that opened here on April 1, 2006. This is a steel Hypercoaster which is a designation given to any roller coaster that has a hill or drop equal to or taller than 200 feet in height. This Hypercoaster was built by Bolliger & Mabillard from Monthey, Switzerland and has no inversions so you are only secured by individual "T" style lap bars and according to Wikipedia, this was one of the first Hypercoasters built in the Southeastern United States. I'm a member of the FLCC (Florida Coaster Club) and someone recommended I try the seat farthest over to the right in the 7th row from the front and let me tell you that is one of the best seats on the train. We coaster enthusiasts love what is called "Zero-g" feeling riders get when the train travels over the top of a hill and that seat really delivers it. It isn't the "ejector style" feeling that some older coasters can deliver which can throw you against the restraints but it is a nice floating feeling as you crest the hilltops. This is definitely the best coaster at the park. Here are the stats thanks to RCDB.com, Goliath is 4,480 feet long, 200 feet high, has a top speed of 70 mph, and a ride time under two minutes long.
