This is the Character Carousel, now called the Grand Carousel at Carowinds near Charlotte, NC. This carousel was built by the Philadelphia Toboggan & Co (PTC) in 1923 and it's model number is 67. It has 48 jumpers, 20 standers which are all on the inner row which is unsusal as most standers are on the outer row, and 2 chariots. The Charoits carry a columbia there with cherubs, flowers, and women. The carousel platform is a 68ft platform with four rows of horses, som of which were carved by Zalar. The carousel was originally installed at Pleasure Park in Evansville, IN where it ran from 1923-1936. It was then moved to Mesker Park in Evansville, IN it ran from 1936-1973. It's possible that both parks were in the same location, they may have just changed names. In 1973, the carousel was moved to it's current location in Carowinds where it opperates today.
