Is there a difference between a fake “Chibson” and a real Gibson? During a conversation with a friend of mine about Gibson guitars, I found out that he was ripped off a few years ago and unknowingly bought a fake Gibson Les Paul Custom, also known as a Chibson. These are fake Gibsons manufactured in china to look like the real thing. In this video I compare the fake Chibson Les Paul Custom guitar with a real Gibson Les Paul Standard Guitar. I will show a couple of ways to spot a fake, so you don’t get ripped off to and buy a fake. There are things to look for in the headstock, tuners, frets, pickups, bridge, serial number and more. At the end of the video, I do a sound comparison of the fake Chibson Custom Les Paul to the Real Gibson Standard Les Paul using my Fender Bassman 20. Can you tell the difference?
