October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month ποΈ
In 2022, breast cancer accounted for almost 17% of all cancer-related deaths in women in the EU. Screening in the 50β69 age group can reduce deaths by up to 34%.
Our colleague *Agnes Mannik* worked on the European Commissionβs initiative on breast cancer, which sets quality requirements and guidelines for breast cancer care, covering screening, diagnosis, treatment and follow-up.
Her team also develops evidence-based cancer screening guidelines for colorectal, cervical, lung, prostate and gastric cancer.
