How Does AMD Do Hardware Accelerated Ray Tracing?

$Vulkan Ray Tracing at 120FPS (GTX 1080 Ti Quake 2 RTX) Vulkan software accelerated ray tracing extensions are used in Quake 2 RTX to enable RTX on GTX cards. Max ultra settings with dynamic resolution scaling gets a consistent 60fps at 1440p, and at the lowest settings frame rates are over 100fps consistently. Temporal upscaling option is used along with thick glass refraction. 25% resolution scale is used in order to minimize the amount of rays needing to be traced while maximizing their impact.
