XeSS 1.3 increases performance AND visual fidelity by reducing ghosting and moire artifacts in motion. FPS improvement is not measured in this video, but the internal resolution of all quality levels of XeSS 1.3 have been lowered. It is impressive that image quality remains comparable or better to the previous version while also running at a lower resolution. Very helpful on older GPUs like my GTX 1080 Ti and Intel ARC like the B580 or A770/A750. It was very easy to update the XeSS version, I simply downloaded LibXeSS from Intel and put the appropriate file in the forza directory to replace the one that comes with the game. (Correct LibXeSS file to use will be named the same thing with the same extension as the one that comes with the game by default.) I was planning on doing a lot more with this video and it's pretty late now but I decided I wasn't gonna finish it so I just uploaded what I had. Hope it's interesting to someone. If anyone is interested I can show how to replace the XeSS version of a game like Forza or War Thunder's XeSS version with 1.3. 1.3 runs at a lower internal resolution compared to XeSS 1.2 and therefor runs better while also having better visuals with less ghosting and a more "native like" appearance imo. I was planning on doing a lot of analysis in this video with voice over but I'll do it another time. #gtx1080ti #fsr #xess #forzahorizon5
