New Medicaid work requirements tied to President Donald Trump’s “Big Beautiful Bill” are set to take effect in more than 40 states by the end of 2025. Adults ages 19 to 64 without children may need to work, volunteer or attend school 80 hours a month to keep coverage. Medicaid renewals will also shift to every six months. The Congressional Budget Office estimates the changes could save $388 billion over a decade, while 6 million people may lose insurance coverage.
