The defense in Lindsay Clancy's murder trial of her three kids called on testimony from psychiatrist Dr. Donald Condie on Tuesday.
Based on the reports he reviewed from her health care providers, he testified that Clancy never told them she was hearing "a voice."
He was then asked to explain how psychosis is "episodic," and speculated on reasons why Clancy would not have told her doctors that she was hearing "a voice."
Clancy has pleaded not guilty in the deaths of her three children — Callan, Dawson and Cora — who were found in the basement of the family’s Duxbury, Massachusetts, home in January 2023. The former labor and delivery nurse was found outside after jumping from a second-story window, leaving her paralyzed from the waist down.
Prosecutors say Clancy planned the killings and strangled the children with exercise bands after sending her husband out of the house. Her attorneys do not dispute that she killed the children, but argue she was suffering from bipolar disorder and postpartum psychosis and should not be held criminally responsible.
