Exit Fate is a role playing game made in RPGMaker by SCF. With 75 characters to recruit, a mixture of typical turn based combat and war battles, and an engaging story, the result is a very Suikoden-esque game.
The latest version of the game can always be found here:

Picking back up at Cento Temple where Daniel is entering Galius's office to tell him that their annoying elemental problem is no more. In the room with Galius is a soldier with a message from Erin. Daniel needs to return to Elysium immediately since she has some news...and not the friendly kind.
Before Daniel leaves, Deus speaks up, stating he wants to repay his debt to Daniel by helping out his army. Galius, ever the cool and respectful man, lets Deus do as he wishes, letting him return to the temple whenever he feels his debt is repaid.
With that, we could go right back to Elysium, but there's a couple characters to pick up first, both of whom will be useful when the next war battle comes up.
The first character can be found by heading to the temple's save crystal. There's an exit outside to the southeast leading to a bald man by the name of Shadfork. Turns out he's wandered to the temple to challenge someone to a brief sprint around the area and lucky Daniel gets to be the challenger.
The task is simple enough...three laps around the area. Shadfork is slow as all molasses though and Daniel can easily lap him once, potentially twice, and get a clear cut easy win. However, it's better to give the illusion of superiority to Shadfork by allowing him to win. He thinks Daniel might have intentionally let him win, but he doesn't care too much and wants to stick around by joining the Elysium army.
In combat, Shadfork actually has a clear cut purpose unlike some clearly mediocre combat characters like, say, Venkal or Hawk. He has extremely high hp and the highest physical defense in the game, meaning he's meant to be a brick wall to protect anyone behind him.
Shadfork has two nagging issues though. His strength for someone meant to be in the front row is a bit lacking, but more concerning is the fact he's the slowest character in the game.
Overall...not the best choice for combat purposes, but at least he's serviceable.
For war battles though, he's pretty nice for a sub commander. He provides 40 men and, more importantly, +2 to defense. Only one other character in the game gives that much defense so he's great for one of your main units who you want to tank something fierce.
The other character to pickup is in Oischin Forest. In the first area where you saw some mysterious ice patches, there was a detour hidden in the trees to the east leading to a Restore in a chest and someone blocking the path deeper in. This man is known as Alex and, with the matter at Cento Temple wrapped up, now enlists Daniel's help to settle a matter within his circle of druid folk.
Long story short, the circle's elder was found dead, suggesting someone within the tight knit circle murdered him. Daniel's brought in and, at Alex's request, is tasked with talking to everyone in the area to get their stories to get to the truth.
After spending some time talking to everyone, report to Alex who'll mention that some of the folk may now have some new dialogue. After one more round of chatting it up with the people and returning to Alex, Daniel has Alex gather everyone up to deliver his analysis.
Daniel comes to the conclusion that...nobody murdered the druid, but rather that he died due to natural causes such as old age.
The main sticking point to support this lies with the closest ties to a druidic individual...animals. While they could not cause harm to the elder due to his powers, that perk flies out the window when he's dead. Survival of the fittest and pure nature in the sense that the dead becomes food for the living, even for someone that's a guardian of the forest.
With that settled, Alex is temporarily leaving the circle while the rest of the surviving circle members get their act together and figure out who gets to be the new elder. That means Alex gets to join the army, whee!
Alex kinda falls flat in combat with no real dynamite stat advantages. He does have one big advantage for war battles as a sub commander though with 30 men and another source of the Forester skill.
More next time!
